We were amazed to see this beautiful cathedral in Macon. It's more typical of Gothic structures seen in Europe. But this is because it was built by Irish immigrants who built it like they did in Europe. It was started in 1888 and completed in 1903. It's a Gothic revival structure . Spires are 200 feet tall. There is a rose window in the front with a huge pipe organ below it. Other stained glass windows are so beautiful. (see photo 2). They are Bavarian stained glass. You feel a real hush when you go inside.
