Friedrichswerdersche Kirche was the first neo-Gothic church built in Berlin. It was designed by Karl Friedrichs Schinkel and built in 1824-1831. This church was inspiration for a Gothic revival synagogue of New York.
Nowadays the church is part of Berlin State Museum holding Alte Nationalgalerie's collection of the 19th century German sculptures. The upper floor of the church displays a huge exibition of life and work of Karl Friedrich Schinkel. The church is maintained by the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation.
