Ocean Seafood: "Authentic Chinese in Chinatown" Los Angeles Restaurant Tip by USCgirlie

Los Angeles Restaurants: 915 reviews and 1,026 photos

Ocean Seafood is a great place for authentic Chinese food (mostly Canton region). I grew up in San Francisco, where there are tons of authentic Chinese places, but found that many Chinese restaurants in LA aren't authentic. Furthermore, prices are affordable at around $10 a plate (except if you order certain seafood plates such as crab which can run at ~$30 a plate). I have found that all their dishes are excellent - whether they are noodle or rice plates, seafood, or appetizers. Service is fast and efficient. Dim sum on the weekends is extremely popular as well - if going on the weekend, try to get there around 11 am or so. My favorite restaurant in LA.

Favorite Dish: Spicy beef cubes - delicious over rice. Green string beans - authentic, just like how they serve it in Asia. Any and all of their noodle and rice plates.
