No diving trip to Dahab is complete without venturing into the famous Blue Hole, even if it is just for a snorkle. But hey, if you have made your way to the Blue Hole you might as well dive it. This is not a dive for inexperienced divers, you are expected to hold no less than an advanced dive qualification. The route to the entry passes through a number of memorials to people who have died at this spot.... quite sobering. But if you do everything as you should there'll be no problems. There are a number of entry options but the best at The Bells. Here you enter down a chimney, a half closed 'shute' that drops about 5m and then opens out into the clear blue. Following the wall along to the right at about 30m there are plenty of fish to keep you amused. BUT keep an eye on that depth gauge, the sea floor is some 80-100m below you and it is easy to go a bit deep. The dive takes you along the outside wall of the Blue Hole to the shallow entrance (about 3m) into the Blue hole itself, where you descend again. Its a relatively easy dive but breathtaking dive. There is not much coral or sea life inside the Blue Hole, so don't expect much. Still, what an experience, It is a must. 4 star dive!!!!!
