This hotel is actually located 30-45 minutes north of Houston in the suburban community of The Woodlands. Opened in 2002, the hotel has a very modern decor; nice, plush sofas & chairs are located in the lobby. The back of the lobby has large windows that let in the pleasant natural light. Even the front desk is very modern looking, as it has individual stations for each employee to assist guests. The rooms are also have a very modern feel, with new, almost boutique hotel-like furniture. The 2 times I have stayed here, the beds were extremely confortable, & the bathrooms were spotless with clean showers & great marble countertops. Try to request a room over looking the pool, which gives you a balcony with an excellent view of the lovely, albeit flat, North Houston piney woods. The pool is very long for swimming laps, & is heated for those few days it is chilly in this part of the country. There is also a nice hot tub located beside it. The workout facility is a bit small, but extremely clean, & offers machines & free weights for working out. The restaurant has a wonderful buffet breakfast, but can be a little pricey at $12 per person. On the weekends though they often have cheaper rates that include the breakfast. The location of the hotel is really good. It's right in front of a stop on The Waterway, a recently developed stream that runs along several popular shopping & dining sites in the area. And there is also a walkway to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, a large outdoor entertainment complex that holds many events & concerts throughout much of the year. The staff is super friendly & very helpful with anything you may need during your stay. Generally during weekdays rates can be anywhere from $150-$200, but on the weekends the rates are usually considerably cheaper, unless there is a big event going on in the area. Self parking is free of charge, with valet parking also available for a fee.

Unique Qualities: I think this hotel's great location is it's greatest asset. With The Waterway just to the back, a walkway to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion, and loads of shopping nearby, it is a great, central place to stay at.
