  Chiesa di San Polo
by Cristian_Uluru

In campo San Polo you can see the Church of San Polo. Nowday you can't see anything about the ancient foundation of the Church: archipointed door with two angels, the big Gothic finial by Bon's work-shop and the bell tower that dates back to 1362.
The Interior of the church was restored in 1804 by architect Davide Rossi who adapted the previous Gothic church to his neoclassical changes.
This church is known for many works are kept inside, expecially 16th century Venetian paintings as L'ultima cena by Tintoretto and L'Assunta e i santi, probably realized by the artist in collaboration with his work-shop. Lo sposalizio della Vergine by P. Veronese and La conversione di San Paolo by Jacopo Palma il Giovane.
Maybe the real masterpiece kept in this chuch is 14 stazioni della Via Crucis realized by Tiepolo.
