Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: If you are coming any time between April & October, chances are the temperature will be either warm, or extremely hot! Therefore, it is perfectly acceptable in most places around town to wear a short-sleeved shirt, short pants, and either sneakers or flip-flops, unless of course you are going to be going to a special event that requires a certain type of dress. It also rains quite frequently here during summer days, so an umbrella comes in handy often. During the winter months, especially December & January, a cold front can come through and make it fairly chilly, so a jacket and pants would definately be needed. But generally speaking, Houston has a sub-tropical climate: Hot summers, mild winters. But at any time the weather can change here, so always keep that in mind!

Photo Equipment: Have a camera on you, you never know what you might see that can turn into a photo opportunity! :)

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: If you plan on making a trip down to Galveston to hit the beach, make sure to bring proper beach attire, sunblock, and even a change of clothes. Many beaches have locker rooms to clean off and change clothes.

Miscellaneous: Well, I would say if you could pack a car, then do it! But if you are not driving to Houston, it might be a good idea to look into renting a car if you plan on doing various things in different locations around town. The city is very spread out, and most everyone in this city has a car, and there is a lot of traffic here to show for it!
