"Just a small well" San SebastiŠn de la Gomera Things to Do Tip by Zirpsis

A well made famous by Christoffer Columbus
by Zirpsis

This is the well from which - it is said - Columbus took water to fill the supplies of his ships before sailing off to the west to the unknown to discover a new route to India. (He, of course, never knew that he'd actually find a new continent). Nice little museum at the center of San Sebastian with three rooms and models of the ships of Columbus. It's also said that Columbus stayed here and slept in one of the rooms. It was crowded with several groups of tourists when I was visiting so I didn't feel lonely...

Directions: Within walking distance from the harbour: walk along the peer and turn right at the city hall.
