Durgapur Things to Do: 5 reviews and 0 photos

Ram Mandir or Lord Ram's Temple - A well maintained temple, owned by the Goenka business family and in the Graphite India's premise in Durgapur.
It has a statue of Lord Ram, Laxman, Sita and Hanumaan. The hanumaan statue is small, places in front of other three, worshipping them.
The temple is made of marble and the statues are beautifully decorated.
The temple is surrounded by a garden beautifully maintained with flower plants and trees.

The evenings are the best time to go, around 7pm when the "aarti"/prayer takes place.
The pundits are brought from Varanasi for prayer and they stay there for few months and new pundits come to replace them.

Outside the temple, you can enjoy Puchka, Rolls, Jhalmudhi. The Puchka of Ram Mandir is quite popular and shoud give it try by asking the owner to make it hot.
For the singles, its a place to hang around and see if you can find your mr or ms right :)

Directions: Half Km from Muchipara. From there you can walk down or take a ST or Mini bus and get down at the Ram Mandir Bus stop.
