On my most recent trip to Chile (Feb.06) I was introduced to Pomaire--a small town which is about 70 km from Santiago and whose main street was crowded with one shop after another selling clay products, jewelry, straw items, garden planters, wind chimes and other typical souvenirs.

I have a separate page for POMAIRE, so I hope you'll want to view it. Tourists love stopping here to buy souvenirs, as I did. There are a number of restaurants to sample, also. We stopped in Pomaire on our way to Isla Negra and Algarrobo,Chile, which was not very distant from Santiago.

Directions: South Central Chile
