Kosta's: "Souvlaki" Stoupa Restaurant Tip by nickandchris

This was the only place you could get take-away souvlaki in Stoupa, in 1993. When we ate here, the only other people were locals, I think part of the family and friends of Kosta. We became involved with these folks, even though we couldn't understand much of what was being said. After a few retsinas, we were all best of friends and great things were promised!!!
Favorite Dish: We had giro souvlaki which was the worst we had ever eaten. The pitta bread was dry and tough, the meat cold and lacking and the whole thing just took hours to be assembled. Kosta slowly carved the meat with an electric carving knife, let it go cold while he very slowly added bits of this and bits of that to the pitta bread.Actually, he gave us the impression he wasn't "all there" but this could just have been the way he did things!!!
Later on in the holiday, our rep told us the place had exploded in a fire-ball. I think kosta escaped, but who knows........
