Wena Homestay: "It's like home.." Ubud Hotel Tip by myspices

We were looking for homestay which is convenient for us to move around. The area we had in mind is Jalan Goutama. Here, you can find many - pick your choice. Wena Homestay is not our initial choice but because the one we had in mind was fully booked, we were offered Wena - it was really a blessing in disguise. Upon entering the compounds of our lodge, we were impressed with the ambience of the homestay - lots of greens, clean surroundings and a pond with koi fishes. There are only 4 units in Wena - 2 bigger units which have hot showers and 2 smaller units with only cold water. Price range : 75,000Rp to 50,000Rp per night. We figure that we will be walking most of the time and feeling hot, we will not need hot showers, so we went for the one with cold showers.
Unique Qualities: Lovable pair of landlords by the names of Wayan Selamet and his wife Nyoman. Good tips from them on how to move about Ubud and outskirts of Ubud - accurate info on which bemo (bus) to take to various destinations. Wayan Selamat works in the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary.
