The painting of murals is a long tradition in Belfast. Nearly all refer to the 'troubles' and a rife with sectarian sentiment.

I've described elsewhere how you can see some of them on a tour or by taxi. I would not recommend walking as many of them are located in what could be called 'dodgy' areas at the best of times.

One of the most useful sites I have found to give a selection of what goes on is given below.
