"Friendly and central" Parade Park Town House Bed & Breakfast Tip by Sjalen

One of the nicest places I have ever stayed in and I was quite surprised to find such a place in touristy Bath where most establishments are fairly expensive, even B&Bs. I was looking for a family room or similar and that can make costs escalate rapidly but the Parade hade just that at a reasonable price as they work as a big B&B rather than with full hotel services. We expected nothing other than a basic en suite but the room turned out to be a two bedroom affair which was really nicely decorated, bright and spacious. It was on the ground floor and as there is no lift in the house you need to take this into consideration when you book if you need that. It is a typical Georgian townhouse and can probably not be altered in many ways. Therefore, you will also find that the nice huge windows let in quite a bit of a draft on a cold February day but cold bathrooms are a part of English life to us so we just closed the door to it and the rest of the rooms were fine and we had thick, comfy duvets...in fact, the only thing we lacked was a remote for the TV :)))
The ground floor has a bar and we expected it to be noisy but not so (despite a rugby game in town that afternoon!). There was a door in the corridor which was closed in the evening to keep noise and smoke out of the residential quarters. We could also benefit from bringing a bottle to our room (since the seven-year-old of course didn't want to sit in a pub all evening, nor was she probably allowed to). Staff was very friendly and helpful and we could leave our suitcase whilst making a daytrip to Bristol after checking out. Breakfast was a choice of five options with everything from full English to just toast and tea - your room had a designated breakfast table which made it easier for staff to set tables accordingly.
Unique Qualities: You are smack bang in Bath city centre with a view towards the Abbey and Pulteney Bridge from the breakfast room, yet only three blocks from the bus and train stations.
