A cold wintery Friday night in London. What better way to warm up than to spend the evening with some lovely VT ladies!
The venue was the Wine Factory, in Notting Hill, West London. This is a friendly, cosy feeling restaurant located on trendy Westbourne Grove. The menu leans towards Italian, with some pasta, pizza and other meat dishes. There is a decent wine list with plenty of reasonably priced options.
We were given the best table in the house and quickly relaxed into a great evening of gossip and travel talk.
Favorite Dish: We decided against starters...wanting to save room for dessert of course! For main meal I had a perfectly cooked steak with chips & bearnaise sauce. Maria & Anita had the King Prawn Linguini with basil, tomato, chilli, pine nuts and parmesan which must have been good as they both cleared their plates! Sarah & Petra opted for the Wine Factory fillet burger with chips, rocket and crispy onions.
While Petra & Maria stuck to their shandies, Anita, Sarah & I shared a bottle of a particularly tasty wine, the Marques de Riscal Rioja Reserva 2001.
Of course we all had a dessert. Petra, Maria & I scoffed down the Hot Toffee Cake, Anita had the Hot Chocolate Brownie with vanilla ice cream and Sarah went back to her childhood with the Vanilla ice cream with hot chocolate sauce.
I had a great night - hope the others did too!
