Grey Gables at the tiny hamlet of St Levan is the former Vicarage and is built uncompromisingly of Cornish granite. It is now a very pleasant guest house, with six bedrooms, quite extensive grounds and a great view of the sea.

It is a place for peaceful holidays, few casual tourists find their way there and there is no public transport! A footpath leads down to a tiny beach (Porthchapel Beach, see the photo inside), which shelves quite steeply - not really good for children.

But for getting-away-from-it-all, it is marvellous. It is also a good stop on the Coastal Path (see Things to Do), or a place to rest up for a few days).

Very comfortable, good home cooking, supper/dinner available on request

From Penzance, take the A30 for Land`s End. After 3 miles, turn onto the B3283 for St.Buryan. Continue through St.Buryan and follow signs for Porthcurno, continue through the valley, up the steep hill on the other side, and to St. Levan Church. Turn right to the car park
