A nice little addition to the usual run-of-the-mill shopping is the local farmers market that sets up in the centre of the city every Friday. There are about 20 stalls selling a variety of things you'd find on the farm. It is a great feeling to buy locally sourced food, it's fresher, helps the local economy and is ecologically friendly being that it represents low food mileage compared to say getting your lamb halfway round the world from New Zealand!

What to buy: Plenty of fresh organic veg and meat and flowers. We bought some mushrooms and some sausages made to a 16th century Tudor recipe - haven't tried them yet!
