To the right from the south gate is the Jaharingi Mahal, a main part of the palace complex, which housed a marble pool, the main harem, halls, courtyards, galleries and dungeons. Along the eastern ramparts, one can have a clear view of the Taj Mahal at a distance. There is a chamber where Shah Jahan, the grieving husband of the departed Nur Jahan, spent his last days in captivity looking at the Taj after being overthrown by his son.
