There is no crime in Mindo, but some tourists did get robbed when I was there. It happened on the gravel road leading to the butterfly farm. Luckily nothing happened as they just turned over their possessions without arguing. The locals where very upset about this incident as it happens so rarely.

If something do go wrong there is a policeman in Mindo, he can be found in this house, just ask around.
