Vladimir... A city located in the "Golden Ring" outside of Moscow. It is about 180 km away the road to Vladimir can be made from Kurskaya Metro station. The bus has the stop right outside the station between the metro station and a big yellow shopping centre. It is a big parking lot where busses, taxies are... you can also find old ladies who are offering available rooms, for a cheap price i assume. But the road to Vladimir can start at this station. There is no excact timetable for the busses but generally the busses leave every 30 min. or when the bus is full. Usually the bus has a sign in the front window telling where it is going, if you are in doubt, just ask someone near or in the bus "do vladimira?". The price is at the moment 150 rubles (tickets are sold in the bus, so all you need to do is go into it and find an available seat and the bus driver will come to you) and the bus itself is the ranked out, long distances, busses that was used in europe 10-15 years ago. The trip itself can take anywhere from 3-5 hours depending on road/weather conditions and traffic. The bus has heating system and is as such comfortable. They tend to show old russian movies on the TV in the bus as entertainment. It makes a short stop for about 10 min. in the city of Pokrov. It stops at a place where you can buy something to eat or go to toilet if needed. When you get to Vladimir it is possible to ask the driver to put you off a long the way if you do not need to go all the way to the train station. If you do go to the train station then there are a few city busses that goes from there and also taxis that you can use for you final destination.
