  York's restored 15th century Guildhall
by Tom_Fields

This is a good starting point for a tourist, especially a first-time visitor with little knowledge of the city. This 15th century building has quite a history of its own. The original was used by local guilds for meetings and social events. It was destroyed by German bombs during World War II; this is a restored structure. Today, it is home of the City of York Council.
