If you want to learn about the ENTIRE history of Yorkshire, from ancient times to the present, then this is the place. The Castle Museum has it all. Here are displays of historic events and everyday life from every major historical period in Yorkshire.

Originally a prison, this museum has the original cells and exhibits on prison life. The notorious highway robber Dick Turpin was tried and hanged here in 1739.
