Six VT-ers stayed in this hostel in January, 2006. The hostel is conveniently located in the heart of Warsaw center, in safe area, on walking distance from the unpleasant Warsaw Central train station. It's located by silent square, on the second floor of monumental building, probably built in the early 1950' in what we call Stalin's gothic style. Warning: the floors are high, be prepared for longer walk upstairs with your luggage. It's open 24 hours, check in at 3pm, check out at 11am.

The VT-gang had a party together with folks from Brasil in the hostel's club at night. I guess, the hostel is a good place to meet backpackers from all over the world during high season (June - August). The VT-ers were very satisfied about the price and generally about the place to sleep one night as well. Well, they moved from "1-star" hostel to 5-star Le Meridien Bristol hotel the next day :-).

Unique Qualities: The hostel offers rooms for 1 to 8 people per room at low price, ranging from 42 to 110 zl (11 - 29 euros) per bed (check up-to-date prices here, please). The rooms are small, simple in design but clean and they look interesting and nice. Warning: beds are not of American size, right Brad (bradbrown)?

There is free fast internet access through 2 computers put in public space. There is a small space called proudly bar which advertises as the place where the cheapest beer in downtown is offered. Well, it's inexpensive, indeed. There is a reception where I bought my Warsaw postcards at surprisingly low price; they offered city transportation tickets and some travel literature as well. They can wash your clothes for 10 zl (over 2.5 euros). They rent biycles as well.

Address: Plac Dabrowskiego 3, Warszawa, Poland
Price Comparison: least expensive
Directions: In downtown, some 10-15 min. on foot from the Warsaw Central train station (Warszawa Centralna). Map and more details here.
