"Cedar Point" Ohio Things to Do Tip by CorvetteChic

Ohio Things to Do: 157 reviews and 295 photos

Cedar Point amusement park/resort located in Sandusky, on a Lake Erie peninsula. The 364-acre park features America's tallest and fastest roller coaster, Millennium Force. The goliath steel roller coaster is the park's 14th roller coaster -- more than anywhere else on Earth!

A variety of fun spinning and whirling rides, three water rides and drive-it-yourself cars great for eager kids who can't wait to get their licenses are among the other ride offerings. Altogether Cedar Point has 68 rides, so everyone in the family is sure to find a favorite.

Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus and their friends are waiting to meet you at Camp Snoopy, a delightful PEANUTS themed area. Great live musical shows in four theatres and along the midway, a sandy Lake Erie beach, a real steam-powered locomotive train, shopping, dining, an IMAX theatre and pioneer crafts are among Cedar Point's other family attractions.

In 2001, Cedar Point will be open daily from May 6 through September 3, plus Bonus weekends September 8, 9, 15 & 16. Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays from September 21 through October 28, Cedar Point celebrates HalloWeekends. This spooky season will be more frightening than ever this year, with three new haunted activities will be joining our three eerie haunted houses, children's treat areas and unearthly entertainment. Our first not-so-haunted house just for kids will debut, the Haunted Drive-In will offer movies from beyond and an intensely frightening new scare zone will be terrifying unsuspecting guests.

Soak City water park, two miniature golf courses, stock car raceways and RipCord, a 152-foot-tall Skycoaster, are adjacent to Cedar Point. These are all separate attractions which have their own fees.

Guests staying more than one day can enjoy one of three waterfront resort hotels, a value-priced motel and an RV campground, which features new cabins, waterfront cottages and deluxe RV campsites.
