"Dune safari" Dubai Things to Do Tip by Cham

Taking a desert safari is a fun experience... you drive about 20 minutes outside of town to the desert and then the group of 4x4's let the tyres down a little to allow them to grip more on the dunes.

the ride can be very bumpy and nerve racking at times... and that's just the driving in the streets... when you get on the dunes expect some roller coaster thrills but with the knowledge that you could actually get hurt.

the safari itself lasts about an hour depending on the company you're with and you'll see a few camels and some bedouins, although i don't how authentic they are.

after this you will all get to a tourist style "bedouin" camp where you will get the chance to ride on a camel, do some sandboarding (which was very dangerous but a lot of fun) and then drink some arabic coffee, smoke a shisha pipe and eat some food... whilst a belly dancer performs.

the whole thing worth doing just to see the sunset in the desert... make sure you wrap up warm though because when the night comes in the desert it gets very cold.
