"Stay away from fast-food..." France Restaurant Tip by miaou

France Restaurants: 225 reviews and 181 photos

Stay away from fast-food restaurants! Even a less expensive meal like baguette with cheese or a crêpe is more pleasant to eat than some greasy fries in France!
And how can you spend time in France without trying some of the regional specialties.
We have eaten (or heard of) dishes like coq au vin or boeuf à la bourguignogne. You'll be sure it tastes 10X better in Burgundy where it originates.

Normany, of course, is à la normdanie which tends to be on the creamier side (not surprising since they also produce a lot of cheese.)
In the south like Toulouse they specialize in Cassoulet and in the Provence area a dish called bouiballaise (fish stew).

Not to be biased since I spent a year in Lyon but this city is the gastronomic city. Try their quenelles (also fish dish)
So don't diet in France or you'll be missing out on an enriching experience!
TIP: A lot of folks think it's chic to call out 'garçon' (waiter) in restaurants but you are better off using Madame or Monsieur.
