Dobbins: "Very high class but hard to find !" Dobbins Tip by Tayto

Dobbins, Dublin: 1 reviews and 0 photos

Dobbins is a very upmarket restaurant in Dublin. The name is odd and sounds like an old horse or something but the food is outstanding and though one of the more expensive restuarants in Dublin is well worth going to for a sepcial occasion. It is tucked away in a quiet stret between Mount Street upper and Mount street Lower. if you have not heard of it you would never happen upon it. To get to Dobbins you take the road to the left of O'Dwyer's pub on Mount Street and just bfore the arch you take a left turn and its on your right.

The restaurant has been done up in recent times and to a degree has lots some of its former charm. It was set in an old motor garage adn had gingham table clothes on the tables and saw dust floors. The new look is like any upmarket slick restaurant in any big city and to my mind this has menat it has lost it uique charm.

This is an expensive place where wealthy business people meet odo do deals, the occaisional celebrity visits and ladies what lunch...well lunch I suppose.

My recommendation is its still worth a visit if you can afford the high prices but book in advnce especially for Thurs / Fri nights.

Favorite Dish: pretty much anything on the menu is excellent
