"The Old Town Hall" Old-Town Hall Tip by Paul2001
Old-Town Hall, Prague: 153 reviews and 273 photos
The Old Town Hall and its fine tower dominate the west side of the Old Town Square. The building dates from 1338 and actually consists of a row of townhouses bought by the town council with purpose of joining them together as a town hall. On the south face of the Town Hall is the famous Astronomical Clock which I saw but actually do not have a photograph of for reason I will provide in another tip. The clock is quite a sight and a highlight of a walk through Prague Stare Mestro. Inside of the Old Town Hall there is a Gothic Chapel but little else to see. Probably what drives you inside is a chance to take an elevator up to the top of the 60m tower. This will cost you 40kc and it is well worth the cost for the views from the top of the Stare Mestro are amazing. You can also get some idea how crowded with tourists Prague is. The tower open from 9am to 6pm from Tuesday to Sunday and from 11am to 5pm on Monday.
Address: Starometska radnice, Starometske namesti.
