"Museo da Marinha" Torre de Belém - Tower of Belém Tip by el_ruso

Torre de Belém - Tower of Belém, Lisbon: 224 reviews and 444 photos

This is a wonderful museum located inside the baroque monastery of Jeronimos. It tells the story of Portuguese exploration and the development of its Navy through modern times. There is also a large hall housing the restored royal galleries and turn-of-the-last-century sea planes, including the first plane used by the Portuguese Navy, the plane used for crossing the Southern Atlantic for the first time, and ancient steam firefighters' engines.
