Torre de Belém - Tower of Belém, Lisbon: 224 reviews and 444 photos

The monument to Portuguese exploration, built in mid-XXth century, is a great place to learn about the extraordinary contribution of this small nation to the world history, from discovering neighboring islands to voyages to India and Japan. You can also go up to the top to get some of the best views Belem and the rest of Lisbon. Fee is E4.

The Portuguese used to leave the stone stellas at the point of the furthest exploration, called pedraos, which is the reason for the name of this monument.
