The man who took me in his trishaw from Hotel Equatorial to Hotel Puri ( ten ringgits lah he said, after asking me whether I was an indian man?) suggested this place. more friendly he said. so i walked back there for lunch. The woman looked like an old photographs from family albums, classic indian face with all the decorations. Smiles broadly and shakes her head in the affirmative. Without my asking for food, a banana leaf appears, a thin young tamil comes over with vegetable curries and rice. Then they ask me mutton? i obediently say yes...very spicy curry..
after all that a good glass of teh tahrek.
Price Comparison: less expensive than average
Directions: from the san francis xavier church go up jalan lakshamana and you will see it on your right. there is another indian restaurant nearby called selvam.
Price: less than US$10
