"Brooklyn Bridge" Brooklyn Bridge Tip by dejavu2gb
Brooklyn Bridge, New York City: 191 reviews and 340 photos
The Brooklyn Bridge was the first suspension bridge ever built, and its 1560 foot span was the world's longest when it opened in 1883.
There is a pedestrian walkway that is very popular with tourists and also runners and cyclists. The walkway begins just East of City Hall and offers a wonderful view of Lower Manhattan.
You can stop at the observation points under both stone support towers and view brass panorama histories of the waterfront at various points in New York's History.
The crossing of the bridge will take about 20 minutes to walk, although it took me longer as I stopped to take pictures, so set aside about 40 minutes.
Address: Spanning the East River.
Directions: Take the subway A, C High St. - Brooklyn Bridge or 4,5,6 Brooklyn Bridge.
Phone: (212) NEW-YORK
