"Rynok Square and the City Hall" Lviv Things to Do Tip by Zo72
Lviv Things to Do: 311 reviews and 904 photos
Old Lviv is placed to the east of Prospekt Svobody. In its centre there is Rynok Square (Market Sq.). Rynok square is surronded by picturesque buildings with coloured facades build from 16th to 18th cenuries. These houses mostly have 3 windows per floor because very high tax was there for additional windows. In the middle of the square there is a large City Hall built in 1835 (it was built after the old one collapsed) with 65 m high tower that is open for visitors. There are statues of gods in every corber of the square.
There were heavy construction works there during my staying in Lviv so the scene wasn't very pretty. Lots of mud, workers machines etc.
