Balinese people are very hospitable, as you may have noticed in the big places. Not just in the touristy places though. You can also visit an actual Balinese village, and people will invite you in to show you their homes. Some actually speak pretty good English. Obviously this isn't everywhere, but near Ubud there is such a place. It's about half an hour from Ubud, and I can't recall the name, but if you ask your driver or guide, they'll know.

Have a look in a real Balinese village, away from the touristy hype, and be the attraction of the town. It's a welcome change, trust me. Oh and, if they sell something after showing you around their home, don't be rude and buy something, it's usually only 10,000 ruppiah. It's not a lot for us, but for them it's a lot!
