  Inside the traditional Balinese home

In case you're interested in seeing what people in Bali used to live like before all the tourism came to town, ask your driver to get you to a traditional Balinese house. Ask for the government supported house, it's near Ubud. The people here still actually live here, and are used to tourists visiting. You can look around in the house without any touts offering you all kinds of things to buy, but when outside, beware as they'll be all over you!

Tip: Don't be rude and give the grandfather of the house a 10,000 ruppiah tip. It's customary to give them this in exchange for them letting you into their house.

Directions: Near Ubud.
