To help orientate myself on my first trip to London I got a one day ticket with The Big Bus Company, a hop-on hop-off tour of London. Tickets are valid for a day and there are three different routes around London, all of which intersect at Marble Arch. The Big Bus Company also offer free walking tours like: The Big Bus Beatles Walk, The World of James bond and the Royal London Walk (although if you want to take their 'Ghosts by Gaslight' tour it costs GBP 5), and a free cruise on the Thames. I definitely recommend waiting for one of the 'Live Language' tours, the tours guides are fun, friendly and informative.

This was a BRILLIANT way to get to know London, I highly recommend it!

Note: if you buy your ticket online you get a GBP 2 discount.
