"Museum of the African Diaspora" More Museums Tip by RblWthACoz

More Museums, San Francisco: 8 reviews and 15 photos

The Museum of the African Diaspora holds a massive amount of potential to be a great museum. However, all the efforts of the entire project add up to a big disappointment. There are barely any exhibits to see. There is one movie in a small theatre, one display on people where their faces morph to show the similarities between people, an exhibit on music, one on food, another where you sit in a room and listen to testaments of former slaves, and then outside that area there are 3 old artifacts from Africa. And that is it. Taking my time, I saw everything in about 30 to 45 minutes. And that includes the third floor art display, which I felt was pretty weak.

Overall, I was very disappointed (if you couldn't already tell). Perhaps I had too lofty of an expectation.
