Hospedaje Minelia Reyes Amaro: "Vinales friendliest b and b" Cuba Hotel Tip by latarita

Cuba Hotels: 226 reviews and 278 photos

We spent a total of 5 days with Minelia. The room is basic with two beds (the one by the window is very hard, but the other is ok) Pillows are filled with some heavy material and are not too comfortable. The bathroom is private, but outside the room. Basic, but very clean.

The room costs 15 CUC, breakfast is 3 CUC and supper is 8CUC. Breakfast is fresh juice, coffee, milk, a plate of fruit, bread, marmalade or guava jelly, and eggs done as you like. Supper is copious--black bean soup, rice, salad and a main course that is either chicken, pork, fish or (shh) langouste. Plus dessert, usually a fruit cup but sometimes homemade flan--excellent. The food is generally good--not excellent but there is lots of it.

The reason we recommend Minelia is because she is the sweetest person and will go out of her way to help. Any questions you have you can ask her. She arranged for accommodations for us in Pinar del Rio, she found us guides for horseback riding and hiking, and when I came back to Vinales from Maria la Gorda with ear problems, she got her friend Dr. 'Pepé' to come and see me at the house.

Vinales has a lot of casa particulares, and some are really not that nice from what we heard, but Minelia's is great and we really enjoyed our stay there.

Unique Qualities: Great view of mogotes from the back patio.
Minelia's parents who live a short way away.
Minelia's personality.
Fernando (her husband) and his political conversation

Address: Minelia Reyes Amaro
Price Comparison: about average
Price: less than US$20
