"Hazy Everywhere" Tunisia Warnings Or Dangers Tip by Alvik

Tunisia Warnings and Dangers: 121 reviews and 59 photos

Non-smokers and those with respiratory problems may not enjoy Tunisia in the non-summer months. I was there in December and although it was winter, there were some really nice days when I sat outside for meals. But when it was too cold, I found the restaurants too restrictive (I am a light smoker myself) as almost 70% or more of the folks dining smoked and well there was really no ventilation to speak of, so there was a cloud of haze everywhere.

Beware of pickpockets, don't let anyone lead you to a tourist spot, they are usually paid by carpet stores to take people to their premise.

Also helpful little fellas who offer to show you around tend to be freelance guides who at the end of the show will ask for 20TD for their efforts. Just beware that there is no such thing as a free ride!

If you are taking the local trains, pay a little extra and get a first class seat. Its worth it!
