Thai House Express: "At Last - A Worthy Thai Restaurant!" House of Thai Tip by SFHulaGIrl

House of Thai, San Francisco: 2 reviews and 0 photos

I've searched high and low in San Francisco for a really good (not merely decent)Thai restaurant. After 9 arduous years of eating mediocre (Thep Phenom, Thai Noodle House, etc.) Thai food, I've finally found one that is GREAT!!! This hole-in-the-wall place is on the edge of the Tenderloin, but is definitely worth the foray. Prices are average for Thai food in San Francisco, but the quality is much better than other places here.

They are open for lunch and dinner. Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., and on Fridays and Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 a.m.

They also accept credit cards, with a minimum of $10.00.

Favorite Dish: You can't go wrong with the Som Tum Thai ( a shredded gren papaya salad w/shrimp, tomatoes, green beans, ground peanuts, chili & lemon dressing) for $6.95, the Larb (ground chicken with chili, onions, rice powder & lemon dressing) for $6.95, the Tom Yum Goong (hot & sour prawn soup w/tomatoes, lemongrass, straw mushrooms, onions & galanga) for $8.25 or the Gang Panang Nuer (beef in medium red curry sauce with fresh basil) for $8.95. The Five Spice Duck Soup was the bomb, too!
