Estancia Harberton

Ninety kilometers east of Ushuaia, on National Route Nš3, may be found Tierra del Fuego's oldest ranch: Estancia Harberton.
The lands it is built on were a gift from President Roca's government to Rev. Thomas Bridges, for his contributions in exploring the area and in establishing a harmonious relationship with the native population
The main ranch house, builded in 1886 is located in a protected bay.
Its original building, carefully preserved, is wooden with an exterior lining of iron sheeting.
The beautiful gardens containing most of the local flora species are well worth a visit.
At the moment it is administrated by Thomas D. Goodall, great-grandson of the founder.
