"Avoid at all costs !!!" Romano Palace Hotel Tip by bigmutt

Romano Palace Hotel, Acapulco: 174 reviews and 1 photos

The four days we spent there were worse than I could have imagined. The place is a dump with no repairs or maintenance in many many years. 40 yrs ago it might have been nice but it's totally run down now.
Spend a few bucks more and get a room with warm water, a/c that works, clean sheets, and a TV bigger than 13 inch. And you'll at least be able to get a good night sleep, which is impossible in this hotel.
(after many complaints, the mgr said he'd change us to another room but never did. instead he claimed they'd fixed whatever they could; untrue).

Unique Qualities: Not unique if found in a 200 peso-per-night hotel, but unique for $700 pesos per night: No hot water for 3 days; phone didn't work, neither did the lockbox or the a/c; plaster crumbling; room smelled of urine; water leak on floor at sink; noise until 3 a.m. was VERY bad, even earplugs didn't help because it shook the whole room. Elevator takes forever. pool is small, crowded, and was evacuated for feces floating in the water. Staff is friendly but cannot do much to a building that hasn't had maintenance for far too long.

Can't even read in your room because the lights are so dim. 9-watt bulbs, no kidding.
