  Old Montreal
by Blatherwick

Bonsecours Market is one Old Town's largest and most prominent buildings. The distinctive silver dome is visable from almost everywhere in the old city.Built between 1844 and 1847, this building served as Montreal's main market. Yet when space was needed, this building has served as a public market, a concert hall, a meeting hall, Montreal's City Hall and even the Parliament of Lower Canada. Today it is the place to go to find that one of a kind designer gift or the proverbial tee shirt.
