Holiday Inn Sunspree All-Inclusive Resort: "Sunspree Resort - a good deal for the money" Paradise Island Hotel Tip by bobk165

For the budget-minded travelers who want an all-inclusive vacation, this place is the route to go. Keep in mind,it is not "Atlantis", It is your typical Holiday Inn with typical Holiday Inn rooms with a semi-floridian decor .The main lobby (all marble) is nicer/bigger than the usual Holiday Inn. It has 2 restaurants: A buffet, (see pic)and a sit-down restaurant where you have to be semi-dressed up to go into and also make reservations. I prefer the buffet, (good selection).I wasn't super crazy about the sit-down restaurant. You pick your dish from a menu, which is limited to about 8 main courses. The food is almost exactly the same as the buffet...just a different atmosphere and presentation. The pool bar has a big variety of fruity and frozen alcohol drinks. The alcohol is not top shelf, but from what I understand, this is the case at any all-inclusive place. The only minus is that the hotel beach faces into the harbour rather than into the open ocean (ie, the hotel is situated on the harbor side of the island, not the ocean facing side).
A walkway bridgeloops out into the harbour and back to the beach, which is kinda nice for a harbour view, but it has a minus, in that it contains the beach area for their non-motorized sports (ie paddleboats, kayaks and some sunning-floats), which obstructs somewhat of the harbour view from the hotels man-made beach.
One plus is that you are only about ten or so minutes walking distance from atlantis, and the cool shops that surround the atlantis complex. So you can experience Atlantis and all its glory (except for the aquarium which is about $29 a person entry fee), and still stay at the Holiday inn and eat and sleep for a lot less than Atlantis.
My advice is, go to this Holiday Inn expecting your room and surroundings to be what you would get at a night at a nicer Holiday Inn, and you will be more than satisfied. If you go thinking that it is Atlantis or any other High-End hotel with top-shelf liquor and Suite-like rooms, then you may be dissatisfied.

Unique Qualities: Nice pool area (pic)
A definite must....take the beginners scuba course offered at the hotel diving shop, they teach you in the pool and take you out to a reef for only about $90 person, all this in one day!
