Memorial near the Amalia Hotel Delphi
by Aleyd

The road between Athens and Delphi was littered with memorials to people who had lost their lives. The memorials traditionally hold a photo of the victim, a lantern, and a small bottle of flammable liquid. This means that anyone passing can light the lantern in rememberance of the victim. The memorials are very vivid reminders of the dangers of cars and winding mountain roads.

The photo shows a memorial I found at the end of the modern town of Delphi, near the Amalia Hotel.
