The Minack Theatre is a beautiful theatre in a beautiful location on the cliffs near to Porthcurno Beach. Plays are presented there each summer, chiefly in the evening, but there are also matinees - and sometimes a midnight show!

The site is also open to daytime visitors if you are unlucky in your quest for tickets! (it is usually booked out). You can then also wander through the magnificent cliff gardens, which were built by Rowena Cade over the years (see their website). She also built the theatre, it only dates from the fifties. Everybody who comes here is entranced by the the Minack.

WARNING : this is a Cornish cliff, so forget the silk dresses. Warm trousers, thick sweater, a groundsheet, a cushion and a rug are needed. Umbrellas are discouraged, so include a plastic raincoat. There is a coffee shop for hot drinks and snacks, which is open also during the day.

Directions: The Minack is 20 minutes from Penzance. Follow the A30 west, turn left onto the B3315 for Porthcurno. Continue up the steep hill at the bottom of Porthcurno Valley ; the entrance to the Minack is a clearly marked left turn at the top of the hill.
