1) I never climbed up to The Palamidi Fortress, even though I really really really meant to!
The fort dominates the town - unfortunately so, as it was a reproach to me daily... Was built by the Venetian in 1714, then taken by the Turks until the War of Independence etc etc.
Has 999 steps.
Go up those steps - I believe it is great up there!

2) I never went swimming in the lovely bays round and about the town. It was snowing most of the time. There's a town beach, and we went on a superb walk to a sandy beach beyond that - you follow the road behind the fortress. The were sandy beaches reproaching us on all sides: five miles on from Napflio, for example, is the town of Tolon... we never went there either and I am told has a great sandy beach (and easy access via buses from Napflion main square every half hour from 7am to 7 pm).

3) We never went to the famous folk art museum (though we went to two other great musuems). Folk Art museum is at Vass. Alexandrou 1, and I have heard it is well worth a visit. We just didn't get there...

4) We never went to any nightclubs though I have heard that they are particularly lively and good in Nafplio....

.....

.....

maybe am just getting old.
