Graffiti Grill: "Diner on Doncaster" North Charleston Restaurant Tip by grandmaR

We drove all the way down Doncaster from the AFB trying to find a place to eat. It was dark and there didn't seem to be many places that weren't fast food chains - plenty of THOSE -- Popeyes, Zaxby's, Subway (2 of them plus a Sub Zone), McDonalds, Captain D's, Hardees, Burger King, Taco Bell, Wendy's, Waffle House, IHOP. Churchs, KFC, Blimpie's, etc. But we wanted someplace a little better than fast food, where we could sit down and have someone take our order.

Finally we came back to this place with a shiny silver exterior and '50s advertisements on the walls. (It was hard to take a picture of the exterior because it was so dark - see photo 4.)

There is a big diner type menu (photo 3 and 5) with things like meat loaf, country-fried steak, burgers, malts, banana splits, and sandwiches. The people mostly knew each other, but they were friendly.

Mon.-Sat., 6 a.m.- 10 p.m., Sun., 6 a.m.-8 p.m.

Favorite Dish: Bob had baked lasagna, with a salad ($7.50 - photo 2) and I had Fettuccini Alfredo and lentil soup ($6.95). Both were advertised as homemade. Bob finished his, but I had too much to finish it. The bill was $16.49 before the tip.
