Summer Palace (Yiheyuan)
where the Qing emperiors lived in summer, constructed in 1888 by the Empress Dowager Ci Xi. It occupies a vast park of 290 hectares, three quarters of which is covered by man-made lake. It is the largest and the best preserved imperial garden in China. It is nice to stroll around the lake on a sunny day. You can also rent a boat to float around.
