  St. Peters Church
by Jagermeister

For one of the best views of Old Riga, go to the top of the spire at St. Peter's Church. It costs you 2 Lats to get on the elevator to the top, but the fee is well worth it.

St. Peters was built in 1209 by the Livs. The spire has fallen several times since its initial construction...sometimes of natural causes and once with the help of the Germans who shelled it in 1941--on St. Peter's Day no less.
